Jazz Piano Instruction
Amanda Tosoff provides piano instruction in jazz, pop and the classical genre. Amanda also provides instruction in theory and arranging for beginners to advanced students. She Specializes in the Jazz Genre and will assist aspiring jazz pianists to prepare for college and university entrance exams.

About:
Amanda is a recent graduate of the Capilano College Jazz Studies Program; she studied with local greats, including Chris Sigerson, Ross Taggart, Lorne Kellet, Ihor Kukurudza, Mike Allen, Rejean Marois and more. Also during her studies at Capilano College, Amanda had the opportunity to perform with the college’s top Jazz ensembles, including the vocal Jazz group NiteCap and the Jazz orchestra, A-Band; Amanda performed with Jazz luminaries such as Seamus Blake, Kristin Korb, Regina Carter, Ed Thigpen, Jane Bunnett, Nneena Freelon and local greats, Kate Hammett-Vaughan and Steve Maddock.
Accomplishments
In 2002, Amanda received one of the prestigious Fraser MacPherson Jazz Scholarships; she
has also earned various awards from Capilano College and the Vancouver Women’s Musical
Society. Recently, she was awarded a scholarship from The Canadian Academy Of Recording
Arts And Sciences.
Jazz Gigs
Amanda currently leads the Amanda Tosoff Trio, made up of the young talents Sean Cronin
on acoustic bass and Morgan Childs on drums. She also has a quartet, adding young tenor
saxophonist Evan Arntzen. The quartet had the opportunity to perform in The Vancouver
International Jazz Festival in 2004 and 2005.

Amanda has
also performed at Vancouver’s premier Jazz club, The Cellar, and at various other venues,
including corporate special events and weddings.
Amanda is currently working on her debut CD.
